Ten litre buckets were out in force at Muri on Saturday afternoon but there wasn't any painting to be seen. Not long after this photo was taken of people crossing the lagoon some of those buckets were over three-quarters full of patito. Many of those collecting the delicacy said they were unaware that the sea creatures had made a return to our lagoon waters until reading Saturday morning's CI News. 16020726
The Muri lagoon algae problem is affecting commercial businesses along the foreshore with hoteliers losing bookings from its spreading dark presence on the inshore sea bed.
