I was in Rarotonga when I heard Jonah Lomu had died. His death was on the BBC television news bulletin I just happened to be watching. It was three in the afternoon – about 3am in Britain. I thought it was remarkable that a broadcaster based on the other side of the world would lead a bulletin with the death of a former New Zealand rugby player.
