With thanks to Vaima Water, Empire Theatre for their generous sponsorship and the Raina Family, the triathlon will once again be held at the Enua Manea Hall in Tikioki.
There will be three age categories; age 9 and under, age 10-12 and age 13-16. The course for the younger age group is a 100m swim, a 3km bike and a 1km run. Both older age groups will race the same course which will be a 200m swim, a 5km bike and a 2km run.
Entry is free to all kids and prizes generously sponsored by Paradise Supplies, Empire Theatre and Vaima Water will be given to all competitors.
All children entering the competition should have basic water competency and swimming skills, and those competing in the 200m course must be able to swim in water too deep to stand in.
The cycle and run parts of the course are on the open roads, and parents are requested to please ensure that their children are competent to ride and run on the road when there will be traffic passing. All competitors must wear a fastened cycle helmet when on their bike.
Cook Islands Triathlon kindly requests all road users to be especially careful and vigilant through Tikioki and up to the Pacific Resort area where the children will be cycling and running.
“Your patience and support for the children is very much appreciated, thank you,” association president Roland Neururer said.
All entrants should be at the Enua Manea Hall in Tikioki from 1pm with the event starting at 2pm sharp.
The Triathlon Association is looking forward to an amazing afternoon of fun for the kids and asks please that all registrations are kindly sent to jennieinraro@gmail.com by 4pm this Friday.
