Cook Islands Touch Association will this afternoon hold second to last round of their weekly open’s competition at the National Stadium in Nikao. On Wednesday last week, the association held the mixed competition which saw some tough battles.

In the opening match of the round, Nukz Power took on the experienced 007 team. Nukz Power played with five players the whole 30 minutes, only having two ladies.

“Great talking and hustling from the two ladies guided the men to work hard in the middle both on attack and defence. Final score came out in a draw of 7-all,” said Julz Westrupp.

On field two, the Young Warriors took on the J squad.

“Another tough game with the final score of 6-all. Well done to the young warriors who consist of 18 years of age players.”

In the final match of the round, Team GAT battled the Mighty Arrows.

Mighty Arrows, also consisting of 18-year-olds, gave Team GAT a good run.  “Unfortunately, the experience of Team GAT was too hard for the young Mighty Arrows.” GAT won 4-2.
