Due to a number of women’s teams pulling out of the competition due to inability to field full teams, one more game in the women’s round one stage is yet to be played, and is scheduled for next week between FBI and Nikz.
Nukz Power Women’s team played two tough games on Monday in order to complete their round one set of games.
This was against Nikz and FBI.
Veteran players Julz Westrupp, Edith Nicholas and Daphne Brown led their teams Nukz Power, Nikz and FBI respectively.
It was good to see experienced veterans leading and guiding young up and coming players who are eager and keen to learn the game.
While there were some good back and forth plays in both games, it was Nukz Power who came out on top in both games.
The men’s division saw top teams Atiu and GAT both win their games.
Team ATT, who are a young team, went up against Atiu, and while being the more inexperienced team, they are definitely a team to be weary of with a good mixture of speed, skill, and ingenuity in the types of plays they put together in a nail biting game.
Nukz Power went down to GAT but not without a fight showing some flare and grit in their game.
Thank you to Bank of the Cook Islands for coming on board as a sponsor for 2022. We appreciate their ongoing support and are happy to announce that our season is now called the BCI touch competition.
