The Business House Mixed Touch Tournament concluded on Monday with thrilling grand final matches, marking the end of another successful event with Air Raro winning the Mana Division, ICI Crew the Moana Division, and Te Mavericks Ora the Toa Division.

Touch Association president Vou Williams says the teams delivered an impressive performance, with standout individuals showcasing their talents to secure victories for their respective teams.

In the exciting grand final showdown on fields 1 and 2, teams displayed remarkable determination and skill; striving for victory they skilfully demonstrated their abilities and tested new strategies under the intense pressure of the finals.

The matches featured stunning runaway tries, enthusiastic side-line support, long passes to wing players, effortless walks over the try line, and dynamic dive plays to secure crucial points.

The awards for the best female and male players of the tournament, sponsored by VANS, were presented to Sunielia Tom of Team KAPS for the female category and Oscar Wichman for the male category.

They were commended for their remarkable performances and effective management of their teams during the final match of the day in the prestigious Mana Division.

Williams expressed appreciation for the diversity of players, from seasoned veterans to newcomers, who all enjoyed the game of touch. Looking ahead, he encouraged continued participation in CITA’s upcoming events, aiming to maintain the current enthusiasm and engagement.

Twelve players from each team were also recognised with the best player award sponsored by Vodafone Cook Islands, for their outstanding contributions throughout the tournament:

Air Raro: Leo Roa, Air NZ: Caleb Chase, BCI: Vernon Horn, Brew Crew: Paul Luiz Van-Eijk, CSB: Tahitoa Webb, Fiber Optics: Chris Bishop, ICI Crew: Nia Remuera, KAPS: Viiga Reupena, Poos & Wees: Aiga Samania, Rock College: Kenya Enoka, Soul Time: Vani Tovehi, Te Mavericks Ora (TMO): Chloe Wragg.

The touch association  CITA has acknowledged individuals and organisations without whom the tournament could not have been successful including sponsors Bank of the Cook Islands, Air Rarotonga, Bite Time Rarotonga, Polynesian Tattoos, Soul Café, Tupapa Gym & Fitness Community Centre, Vaiana’s Bar & Bistro, VANS, Vodafone Cook Islands, and Vonnias Ltd.
