With a strong lineup of local talent invited to the squad, Wallbank is eager to see the players come together for the first time as preparations ramp up for the prestigious tournament, set to take place in Fiji this July.
Expressing her gratitude, Wallbank shared, “I would like to say thank you to everyone who reached out when my appointment was announced. I am proud to be in this position and excited to work with our talented players.”
This year is shaping up to be a massive one for women’s football in the Cook Islands, with three major tournaments on the horizon.
In addition to the OFC Nations Cup, the U19s will also compete in a regional competition, while Rarotonga will play host to the OFC U16 Women’s Qualifiers next month.
Excitement is building, and with the campaign now underway, the women’s national team is ready to step up and showcase their skills on the international stage.
