The Rarotonga-based squad first flew to Auckland, where they linked up with their Auckland-based teammates before meeting their Australian-based player.
Now at full strength, the team is set to represent the Cook Islands on the OFC stage for the first time since Nikao Sokattak’s 2022 campaign.
After an impressive qualifying run on home soil in February, Tupapa Maraerenga FC is locked in and ready for the challenge.
Head coach Mii Piri-Savage is confident in the squad’s preparations and excited for what lies ahead.
“This championship is another level, and we know we have to be at our best. The boys are focused, working hard, and ready to go,” Piri-Savage said.
“We’ve had great preparation, and the team is feeling strong both physically and mentally. Now it’s about executing our game plan and performing on the big stage.”
The team will face tough competition from the best clubs in the region, with every match expected to be a fierce battle. The coaching staff has been emphasising tactical discipline and fitness to ensure the players can compete at a high level throughout the tournament.
According to CIFA Media, with a strong squad and high energy, Tupapa Maraerenga FC is looking to make a statement in this year’s OFC Men’s Champions League.
“Fans back home will be cheering them on as they chase glory on the international stage. Supporters can follow the team’s journey through live updates, match reports, and exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage via social media.
“As the countdown to kickoff begins, Tupapa Maraerenga FC remains focused on their mission – competing at the highest level and representing the Cook Islands with pride. The journey starts now, and the team is ready to give it everything they’ve got.”
