The side was presented the trophy on Saturday by the Islander Hotel represented Sekoula Isimeli. This after the invincible Tupapa ticked another win in their books against Avatiu at CIFA Complex in Matavera.
Fiery defender Christina Areai was phenomenal, setting up Tupapa forwards’ Mii Piri-Savage and Kayleena Kermode their two goals in the first half, for the 2-0 win.
On Avatiu’s end, defenders Maya Mokoroa and Piri Murare found it hard to keep watch on Tupapa’s nippy forwards. The side received multiple chances to score but couldn’t seem to find the net.
Tupapa started the 2021 season strong and have continued to uphold their unconquerable style of playing, going through two rounds unbeaten winning 11 games and drawing one.
They successfully led the points table from the start of the season, now placed on 34 points with no chance of being overthrown, proving to be the toughest team to beat this year in their division.
With another three rounds to go in the Round Cup competition, this Tupapa team will hope to continue their hard work and have their eyes set on the Knock Out champions title as well.
Meanwhile the second placed Puaikura women took down Nikao Sokattak with a single goal on Saturday while on Thursday, Titikaveka women were held by Matavera on their own field 1-all.
