The 2024 Rarotonga Football Season heats up this week as the CIFA Complex hosts a thrilling round of midweek fixtures, headlined by the Matavera-Ngatangiia versus Titikaveka encounters.

Matavera-Ngatangiia’s senior women are set to lock horns with Titikaveka today at 5pm.

Coming off a morale-boosting first win last week, Titikaveka will be looking to carry that momentum into this clash, eager to add another three points to their tally. Meanwhile, Matavera-Ngatangiia, sitting on four points, are keen to extend the gap between themselves and their opponents, who are just one point behind.

This matchup is set to be a tactical battle, with both teams poised to exploit any defensive lapses.

Titikaveka’s Hanna Sivo, who notched a hat-trick in her last outing, will be one to watch as she looks to continue her fine form. On the other side, Matavera-Ngatangiia's Kimberly Uini has been a force to be reckoned with, her thunderous long-range strikes proving to be a lethal weapon.

The day’s action will kick off with the U15 Boys match at 4pm, setting the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating evening of football.

The action between the two clubs continue on Friday as the U15 Girls take to the field at 4pm, followed by the main event—the Premier Men’s clash between Matavera-Ngatangiia and Titikaveka at 5pm.

This clash is shaping up to be a cracker, with both sides desperate to climb the league table.

Fresh off their first win and three points, Titikaveka will be looking to string together back-to-back victories to gather momentum. Matavera-Ngatangiia, currently sitting on six points, will be aiming to solidify their top-half status and widen the gap over their rivals.

Matavera-Ngatangiia’s attacking trio of Alphy Ngire, Paul Poila and Julius David have been pivotal in their side’s recent performances, demonstrating flair and finesse in the final third. Meanwhile, Titikaveka’s Tangi Akava and Sisa Pickering, under the astute guidance of Teariki Piri, have been standout performers this season, and they’ll be looking to stamp their authority on this match.
