Tupapa Maraerenga will play Titikaveka’s boys in blue, a side that has upset the men in black before and are aiming to do the same today.
Titikaveka’s Akiona Tairi and Piritau Nga, a pairing that worked well against Puaikura in their elimination round last week, are going to face Tupapa’s Oscar Wichman and Ronnie Sakai, another pairing who secure their goal like brick walls.
Tupapa can’t underestimate any aspect of this match today as Titikaveka will take any chance they get to take over.
Tupapa’s youth players have had a major impact in their performance over the past few games, and the side will need to utilise players like Ngametua Tuakana and Marcus Gibbens, who operated well alongside their more experienced footballers in their past match.
But penetrating the blue wall won’t be as seamless as they want it to be, with Titikaveka’s Timothy Tangirere and John Karika, who will force them to can their usual chased long balls to the goal, making them work to gain ground anywhere near their half.
With stakes so high and another cup in the running, both sides will be hoping for a win today.
Before the Men’s match, Puaikura’s western ladies are playing Titikaveka’s girls in blue. In their last encounter Puaikura lost to Titikaveka. While Titikaveka will be looking to repeat their last routine, Puaikura will be on the road to redemption so this decider will be very hard for both.
