Football players are eager to progress into round two of the Prime Foods grassroot football games - kicking off today at the CIFA field complex.

After completing round one of the football grassroots games, players will kick off into the second round of club clashing today at the CIFA complex in Matavera. The first round of games gave the players a taste of what this year’s football season has in store, with the next five weeks of round two matches sure to bring out the fire in each club as they get closer to the grand finale.

Kayva Tauira, Media Officer for CIFA said that “Every grassroots game attended has been deemed successful and no doubt enjoyable to watch from the Under 6’s to the Under 12 mix. “

Playing after the grassroots will be Tupapa Maraerenga FC and Matavera FC U18 Men for their second encounter. After their first loss on Saturday against Nikao Sokattak, the youngsters from Tupapa will need this win to maintain their spot in front of their neighbors. Matavera, who are aware of these results, will most likely use this to their advantage when taking on Tupapa.
