Rarotonga Fijian residents – Tabusoro has returned and will be pushing through to get to the finals at this year’s 35th Rarotonga Rugby 7s Tournament that kicks off on Friday.

The Tabusoro team is returning to the Raro 7s competition after missing out last year, where most of the Fijian national players were previously playing in the local island clubs.

They have the likes of Sailosi Nagi and Petero Lagilagi and also joining them are two Fiji national players with links to the Cook Islands in their maternal side.

Team manager Waqa Naitini says: “Tabusoro has some great experienced players, including young players and we are gunning for a win.”

Naitini said: “We are not there to make numbers but there for a win.”

Coach Lai Bideni said the players have been in camp in the past couple of weeks and preparation, and training have been ongoing.

Bideni said the players took a break during the Cook Islands Games so players could be part of the 7s competition playing for other Pa Enua.

He said most of the players recently played in the Tri Nations tournament.

“We are looking forward to reaching the finals,” says Bideni.

Twelve teams will compete in the two-day Rarotonga 7s Competition that kicks off on Friday.

Meanwhile, you can now pre-purchase your tickets for the event that starts on Friday, November 8 and ends on Saturday, November 9 using your mobile phone, by scanning QR code from your E-Moni app and pay the E-Moni Ticket price stated in the poster shared on the Raro Rugby 7s Facebook page.
