The event is part of CISNOC’s Olympic Week which includes the Mini Olympics on Wednesday and Olympic Day on Thursday.
Richelle Gempton from CISNOC said the Ability Olympics is a morning of sporting and Olympic activities for inclusive education students and community members of all ages.
“Participants from the Creative Centre and schools around Rarotonga join us for a fun filled morning,” she said.
“Participants will move physically, learn and discover new skills, and come together with participants of all ages.”
The day starts at 10am with participants marching onto the track with a torch and finishes at 1pm. The finale games are a ball relay, wheelchair race and tug of war.
Gempton said Olympic day celebrates the Olympic movement and promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.
“Olympic Day is based on the pillars of ‘move, learn, discover – together for a better world’.”
On Thursday there is also an Olympic fun run held at the Rarotonga Golf course. There will be a 2km and 5km course.
