This includes the national Squad who are preparing for two international tournaments - The Nations Cup in Singapore and the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands in November.
Netball Cook Islands (NCI) Secretary Tekura Moekaa said it has been a while since they have restarted the Social Mixed Competition post Covid-19.
“It is usually a Corporate Mixed Competition, however with the growing increase in netball, NCI felt confident to continue momentum and provide a forum for netball to be played outside the Netball Season.”
She said for the mix competition 10 teams are registered - 9 mixed teams and the National Squad.
“This is three fold, providing a platform for all to participate in netball, game time for the National squad as we build towards both the Nations Cup and Pacific Games and fundraising opportunity for Netball Cook Islands.”
NCI acknowledged all the teams that have registered for the competition
First games started on Tuesday (August 22) where each team played two games a night and will play for the next seven weeks.
“It was an exhilarating start for the teams, some new to netball and some very experienced.
“We hope the coming weeks will see our community come and support by watching the games and supporting Netball Cook Islands.”
She added that Netball in Paradise in December would be another option that teams can look forward to entering a team.
