The Netball Cook Islands domestic competition got off to a strong start last week, setting a perfect platform for the remainder of the season.

The week two competition today promises to be another highlight of this year’s season, with Titikaveka taking on Ngatangiia/Matavera and Avatiu taking on Arorangi. Netball fans will also see Takuvaine take on Tupapa.

Jenna Tere, the secretary for Netball Cook Islands, said that the 2025 netball season kicked off last Saturday, producing some thrilling outcomes.

“The local Domestic Netball Season has kicked off with a strong start, and clubs from all grades, from Under 6 to Premier, are thrilled with the outcome,” Tere said.

“The competition this season is set to be an exciting one, with each grade set to play two full rounds, ensuring more action and opportunities for teams to showcase their skills.”

According to Tere, it’s clear that the energy on the courts is building, and the teams are eager to compete.

“This weekend’s matches promise to be another highlight of the season,” she said.
Tere said that in collaboration with the rugby league schedule, Netball CI has worked hard to align the host matches, ensuring that clubs play in front of their home crowds, further enhancing the local netball experience.
