The netball competition held on Saturday at the Nikao Beach Courts featured 10 teams competing in a single grade.
The 2023 Beach Games netball champs Rehab Rolly Pollies returned to the competition eager to retain their title. However, they fell short, finishing in second place behind Team Blackrock.
Netball Cook Islands (NCI) said it was great to see a different variation of the game on display on Saturday.
The association was pleased with the level of competition from male players who took part in the event.
There was also a good presence of national squad members playing for their respective teams.
Netball Cook Islands added that the beach netball competition was a great start to their 2024 season.
Meanwhile, Brew Crew managed third place while Team Crax finished fourth in the beach netball event.
Beach Touch Rugby started yesterday with eight teams battling for the top prize. The competition which ends this afternoon will feature 2023 Pacific Games touch players playing for their respective teams.
The 3X3 basketball will start on Wednesday followed by football from January 12-13, badminton from January 15-16 and beach volleyball from January 19-20.
