Arch-rivals Titikaveka and Avatiu set for intense clash

An exciting clash awaits this afternoon as unbeaten arch-rivals Titikaveka and Avatiu’s premier teams meet in week three of the Rarotonga Netball Competition.

The two teams will battle at Teimurimotia Courts in Titikaveka. In the other matches, Tupapa will take on Ngatangiia/Matavera while Arorangi will host Takuvaine.

In last week’s competition, Avatiu premier side defeated Arorangi 56-42 at home. In the reserves match, Avatiu defeated Arorangi 46-23 and in Open 2, the side won 21-15. However, in the Open 1 category, Arorangi took the win 29-15.

Titikaveka premier team thumped Ngatangiia/Matavera 65-20 at Ngatangiia Court. The open 1 and 2 teams also won their matches 19-16 and 22-15, respectively.

At Happy Valley Courts in Takuvaine, visiting Tupapa’s premier team delivered a dominant performance, defeating the home side 56-17. In the reserves grade, Tupapa won 37-16, and they also secured a 24-16 victory in the Open 2 grade. However, Takuvaine claimed the Open 1 grade win with a score of 24-16.

This year’s competition features six clubs competing across 10 divisions – six age group and four senior divisions. The clubs will play two rounds, for a total of 13 weeks of local competition.
