Close to 100 children that dream of becoming professional league players got a chance to learn from two of the bests in the game.

National Rugby League Women (NRLW) players Kiana Takairangi, who is CK Athletic’s co-founder together with business partner and NRLW vice-captain for Roosters Corban Baxter, conducted a free junior clinic at the Nukupure Park in Ngatangiia yesterday.

Cook Islands Rugby League secretary Francis Toa said the wet weather failed to dampen the spirits of the excited children who turned up eager to learn the tricks of rugby league.

Toa said: “The weather comes as a blessing for us, for the kids. It was perfect conditions for the kids’ clinic.”

She said it was Takairangi’s second time to Rarotonga for the kids’ clinic and it was amazing.

The clinic was for boys and girls aged 6-12 years.
