Athletics Cook Islands president Simone Fe’ao was pleased with the great turnout as parents and their children came out in numbers for the inaugural event.
“It’s really exciting to have so many kids of all ages come and the parents’ support. It’s a good way to start the school holidays and I guess the message we’re just trying to put out there is, get out there, have fun, learn some new skills and yeah, just improve the health of our nation,” said Fe’ao.
“We’ve had about 70 kids come, which is really exciting
and we look forward to a good start to our athletics season.”
Fe’ao said this was the first time they hosted the Kids Athletics Carnival and
it turned out to be a good format and a good lead up to the Global Athletics
Day in May.
