Isn’t Aitutaki part of the Pa Enua?
This decision by Government is discrimination. Government opened our borders knowing very well that Covid will enter the country. So let’s open up all islands since we are all vaccinated. What’s the problem now?
Covid is here to stay so let’s deal with it and allow the free movement of people to all the Pa Enua and vice versa.

Pre-departure PCR tests
Fantastic news from home (Government drops costly pre-departure test, Cook Islands News March 18, 2022).
Yes $250 person was too much and yet we have been fully vaccinated including booster and negative results. Families from Sydney via Auckland, NZ were charged $250 each x 7 = $1750 going to family funeral back in Raro.

We just returned yesterday from a 9-day holiday in Rarotonga – $500 for myself and wife to get tested.
Did I think it was expensive? Yip but honestly, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. It was just so great to go back after five years, beautiful warm weather, wonderful friendly people and awesome food.

Cannabis law
All the talk in the world will not change the law relating to cannabis unless people get mobilised at the next general elections and vote in a progressive party.
We have a host of injustices historical and current because of our outdated thinking and outdated laws with the current crop of MPs and those waiting in the wings not wanting to get offside with their Christian congregations and any mention of change will not see them elected or re-elected that is the sad truth.
We need to be taking the initiative as a people and forcing referenda and taking the decision making away from those self same ignorant and self righteous excuses for leaders in our electorates. Our select committees are biased we know this and hence cannot be trusted to make decisions that as a minimum meet international conventions we have signed up to. Not one of them will bite the hand that feeds them with the result more talk and no walk.
