Letter: ‘You’re missing the point, PM’

So the Prime Minister is now comparing the petition of 3400 signatures to tell his Government that his people are not happy with the water situation. How to belittle your own people.

The reality is Prime Minister you are missing the point, it is the politicians who are missing the point. You are not listening to what your electors are telling you. You refer to Ukraine, Gaza and New Caledonia (France). Did politicians Putin, Macron and the Gazans ask or seek advice? No. Prime Minister, you are not on the world stage, so start listening.

The people are using their legal rights under the Constitution to advice you of their dissatisfaction. Your response is to belittle them. You were petitioned before based on the lie that the pipes needed upgrading as 70 per cent of the water collected was lost through leaks, the fact that nothing is free and eventually you will pay was the Government’s response. No one else in the world has free water, and we want to be like them. Politicians ignoring the people again.

How can you take a Crown entity of four men and a truck of inner tubes and 10 intakes apply corporate magic and grow the entity to 40 men and several trucks and 10 intakes. Same water supply.

Too many MBA’s?

Editor’s note – Prime Minister Mark Brown was given a right of reply opportunity yesterday. Brown said he was about to commence the chairing of the Forum Foreign Minister Meeting in Suva, Fiji, and requested the newspaper inform readers that he would not have time to respond to the anonymous letters.
