I have found her insight, intellect and willingness to pursue subject matters that others won’t (or be cancelled if they dare) to be honest and frank – read balanced and researched.
These articles definitely put the spotlight on issues within the Cook Islands and should never be hidden. There are many NZ’ers/Aussies that take an interest in subject matters and welcome investigations to be opened up. Her articles are read from Cook Islands to Europe/Scandinavia/America by well-seasoned travellers and people from many walks of life. And yes! Intelligent people!
One should remember of the reason for any journalism/journalistic pieces whether they be factual reporting or opinion pieces. And perhaps the clue is in the title ‘Opinion’.
If you want to stand and help make a difference in matters or if you want to simply become just another number at the office and pick up your salary then ignore all of the above and the great work that at least someone is bringing to the table for discussions as uncomfortable as they may be at times.
