Letter: Privacy versus public interest

This fiasco surrounding the Ombudsman’s Office and its supposed enquiry into allegations against our former Police Commissioner must stop.

The so-called privacy issues don’t compare against the public’s need and right to know. Our current Ombudsman is now two years (?) into the position. Please name one case of action taken. Already she is advertising for an assistant. To do what?

Come on Minister Mac (Mokoroa), do something decisive for goodness sake.
