Letter: PAC report

The PAC report showed that only 13 out of 59 government entities, representing only 22 per cent, submitted their 2022-2023 performance reports. Forty-six (46) out of 59, which is 78 per cent of government entities, are not meeting their reporting obligations.

The plain English version is: The PAC report showed that only 13 out of 59 government entities did submit their reports, 46 out of the 59 did not. Forget the percentages.

We have just passed a budget where MP all aye-d the appropriations, everyone is happy. The non-compliance continues, either we have “the rule of law” or we don’t. I pose the question why has the current Government passed a supporting budget for these non-compliant departments? It’s simple: no reports, no budget. Everyone will be amazed how quickly the reports will be done. Looks like the rot started at the top.

Stop the rot.
