Kia Orana, Te akaroa Earlier Letters to the Editor in regards to the appointment of Owen Lewis as Secretary of Education are to be applauded for the valid points raised.

Meitaki ranuinui to the Selection Panel for their professionalism in the process leading to the final selection. The dignity and integrity of the Selection Panel however was totally ignored by the Minister of Education (Mac Mokoroa). Instead, he supports nepotism and double dipping.

Whatever happened to: “For the best interest of our children.” If we value the education of our tamariki (our future leaders) we absolutely need to “do the right thing”.

Proverbs 10: 9 reminds us to “Walk in integrity”.
