Letter: Depleting population base

Dear Editor, This is hard evidence that politicians and statisticians cannot deny – we have a depleted population base, when the Courts cannot muster a jury of 12 unrelated citizens.

How are we going to address this?

We could perhaps offer visitors to the island a unique experience doing jury service while on holiday. That would be a first for the Pacific. Yes, we always lead the way.

On a similar note, the letter referring to the increase in Covid deaths, if we leave the young and old behind, then what would you expect, an increase in deaths as the oldies are closest to their use by date.

On a similar note, we cannot muster the correct number of landowners to get a legal approval for an occupation right. Once again, a result of a depleted population.

Food for thought.
