Letter: Cops don’t get it

I see in your paper where the police gave their latest roundup on reckless driving around the island and thankfully there were no skunk drunks to report about.

The police continually ask for the public's support in helping to suppress crime but they aren't getting much help.

One of the many reasons the public is so apathetic to their public service messages  is because the cops have been told to stop arresting our people for pakalolo activity but they continue to hound and persecute us for something the vast majority of the people are engaged in,

The cops just don't get it. If they want our cooperation they have to come to the realisation that the difference between serving the ideal of justice and doing what's best for the people are two entirely different things.
