One such opportunity or solution was introduced at the Moerk Water Solutions booth, an Australian-based company that was among several other overseas and local companies at the exhibition this week at the National Auditorium.
Moerk Water designs and constructs innovative and sustainable water treatment solutions for situation-specific use in local and remote areas of Australia, Asia-Pacific and East Africa.
Dr Mat Francis, director of Moerk Water Solutions, told this newspaper that the water solutions available at Moerk Water are suitable for countries like the Cook Islands facing such water issues.
“The exhibition has been so good and we come every year because we are a big fan of PWWA, we’ve come for eight to nine years,” he added.
“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback on our approach because we design sustainable water solutions, we do sea water, surface water and brown water treatment systems.
“The goal is trying to get the word our through this expo and one of the things we plan to get out there is our capabilities and each year, we get more and more people saying they know now what Moerk water does.”
Dr Francis added that they design renewable-energy-powered, self-managed, and easy-to-maintain water treatment plants that provide a dependable source of water for years to come, even in the harshest conditions.
Moerk Water Solutions comprises a team of specialist scientists and engineers dedicated to providing quality, reliable water supply to those who need it most. They draw on more than 115 years of project management experience, which started in Germany and now serves clients all over the world.
Several other local companies and authorities, such as To Tatou Vai (TTV), were among the booths at the expo.
The 8th Pacific Water and Wastewater Ministers’ Forum and the 15th Pacific Water and Wastewater Conference and Exhibition conclude today with site visits around the island.
