Taio Shipping’s co-director, Mona Taio, clarified that since January last year, they have been regularly servicing the Pa Enua, ensuring a minimum of one trip per month for every Southern Group Island, totalling to 12 confirmed trips per year and occasionally two trips per month “when possible”. 25030350
The residents of a Southern Group Island continue to endure ongoing hardships due to inconsistent shipping, driving up costs and forcing reliance on subsistence living, while awaiting government-promised shipping improvements.

Instead of saying Subsistence living, I would say self sustaining ie living off the land as we have done for thousands of years. The beauty of island living is that we can look after ourselves in tough times if we're on our own land and owe no one anything but love (Romans 13:8. Traditional culture relies on the community looking after, and supporting each other which at this time I would say is a safer way to go than relying on other countries. We are so blessed to be able to live off the land!
