LETTER TO EDITOR: SPCA’s Volunteer house in line for an upgrade

No, need to educate people, there are free de-sexing clinics around the island and it's not the dogs’ fault. It’s the owners, everyone needs to step up, and not rely on SPCA to take on unwanted dogs, if you want a pup, it's for life. Not until you get bored with it and want another. Desex it. It’s free. I agree it’s not going to change until people start being responsible, but good on SPCA for helping those who can't speak for themselves.

Jaime Horn

By the sounds of it there isn’t much de-sexing of the dogs going on so a bit irresponsible of the owners and local council - this is what should be happening - unless u have a licence to breed makes sense on such a small piece of paradise.

Mahina Sellars

Seriously, they need to look at euthanise these dogs instead of putting them back into the community to roam around. Seriously, if it's at breaking point to house them, this is a humane option as opposed to the current problem that is a never ending issue in Raro. Sorry, I’m not trying to sound like the bad guy, but it's the circle of a repeat problem in Raro.

Kevin George

When you offer the people free de-sexing, free health and wellness checks, along with a small cost for worming and flea treatment, and still that’s not enough to get people to take their animals along to be de-sexed. What more can we do.

Someone said on here there was an old saying, “sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind”. Agreed in some way.

But there is another old saying, “a country will be judged by the way it treats its animals”.

College faces financial difficulties

Go and fun raise, have a gala day like other primary schools doing. You are a college, you should be showing an example. Asking the Education Ministry to increase your funding like you are the only school. Get up and stop being lazy.

Fund raising is a false economy. All you're doing is asking Joe Public to fund something that the Government should be doing in the first place. This is the National College, much like Health and infrastructure, the Government should be increasing funding so the education is relative.
