Muri fires up for New Year’s Eve

Party your way into 2023 to a fireworks display, cool sounds and the stunning view of Muri lagoon this New Year’s Eve.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship from businesses, for the first time in five years the Muri New Year’s fireworks display will be back – and weather permitting, with a brilliant bang.

Local DJ’s the Coco House Bros will be playing at the Rarotonga Sailing Club right on the beach at Muri from 5pm until late to see the New Year in.

The RSC Beachfront Bar & Brassiere will open from lunch time and will also be serving dinner.

Patrons can book into the Muri Beach Club Hotel for a special four course for Saturday’s New Year’s Eve dinner and see the countdown for 2023. Meanwhile, the Pacific Resort Rarotonga will feature the usual a la carte menu and the kitchen will stay open up until midnight to cater for hungry guests and partygoers.

Tickets for the Nautilus Resort’s New Year’s Eve party with a Hawaiian luau theme are $160 per person. This includes a sunset cocktail party overlooking the beachfront with welcome cocktail and canapes then through to the main restaurant for a gourmet six course meal.

The evening also includes a four-hour beverage package of beer, sparkling and still house wines and soft drinks. Guests can dine and dance to Rudy and GDUB until midnight and view the Muri fireworks from the beach.

The Muri NYE Fireworks sponsors are: Avis, BSP, Captain Tamas, Island Car & Bike Hire, Kauvai Customs Agency, Koka Lagoon Cruises, Muri Beach Club Hotel, Muri Beachcomber, Nautilus Resort, RSC Beachfront Bar & Brassiere, Pacific Resort Hotel Group and Te Vaka Roa.

Remember to stay safe and organise a sober driver to return you home safely after seeing in the New Year.
