It was the first time the event has been held at Taua Terevete Park – a high profile site in Avarua – as opposed to the traditional venue at the school on St Joseph’s Rd.
School principal Savenaca Tukitoba said the new site meant more parking options and higher visibility on Friday.
Hundreds of people had volunteered their time and resources in a combined effort to help fund the school maintenance programme.
They included the Parent and Teachers Association and the “whole” school community, he added.
“There’s been a lot of effort by parents and sponsors.”
The funds raised would assist with grounds, buildings and general maintenance.
He said there was specific target in terms of dollar figures.
Food, entertainment and children’s activities were on offer.
“It all makes a big difference for us.”
