Since then, Rotary has been leading the global fight to eradicate polio. Along with global partners, the number of cases has dropped by 99.9 per cent.
On Wednesday March 26, The Rotary Club of Rarotonga is hosting a purple themed Quiz Night at the Rarotonga Golf Club, at 6pm to raise funds for this vital cause.
Rotarian Mark Boyd said every dollar raised at the quiz night will be doubled by the Rotary Club of Rarotonga, making your support even more impactful.
For a team of six, it will cost $120 to enter and be in for a chance to win prizes and lucky draws throughout the night.
So get your team together and test your knowledge for a great cause.
Despite incredible progress, the job isn’t finished. If polio isn’t fully eradicated, we risk seeing 200,000 new cases worldwide each year within a decade. Continued vaccinations, health worker training, and advocacy remain crucial. Support a worthy cause, and help Rotary finish the fight against polio.
To register your team, contact Mark Boyd at 55250 or email holidayhousesraro@gmail.com. Also, the fabulous Aunty Rangi Mitaera and Helene will be there with their tasty kai – should you feel hungry on the night.
