"The Tourism Council is appalled to read and hear about reported burglary, break-ins and thefts going on. We know it can happen in any country, but we are a small island community and should be looking after one another,” says Cook Islands Tourism Council President Liana Scott.

Police have labelled an incident where a visiting couple were robbed of their valuables at a Titikaveka beach on Wednesday afternoon as a ‘disgraceful, brazen act of theft’. Losirene Lacanivalu reports.
