Yesterday morning at 9am, police responded to a report of a car crash where a vehicle travelling towards Arorangi had collided with the golf course hedging at the Social Centre in Nikao and then hit another car.
Police spokesperson Trevor Pitt said the matter was still pending.
Pitt said the long Constitution weekend also saw four motor vehicle incidents, two involving vehicles that fled the scene of a crash.
He said one of the two occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Kiikii where a blue Mazda car reportedly demolished a row of hedging by the main road before taking off.
Another incident was reported on Saturday night at 10pm when a black rental car exiting the Cook Islands Game Fishing Club struck a motorcyclist. The car failed to stop.
A minor collision occurred on Saturday afternoon when a motorcyclist hit the rear of a truck at Rangiura.
On Monday morning, a crash was reported at 9.22am after a car driver made a U-turn at Nikao and collided with a motorbike carrying two people.
The passenger is said to have suffered a broken leg.
Other incidents reported to Police over the weekend involved a dog bite, a speeding driver suspected of being drunk, a domestic disturbance, drinking in public, and the search and rescue of a tourist from a mountain trek on Saturday evening.
