The 83-year-old man was not reported to be injured after the incident occurred about 5pm on Thursday.
He was taken to hospital for observation, for safety reasons, due to his age, Police said.
The incident was one of four on Rarotonga roads on Thursday, keeping Police busy while shuffling Pacific Islands Forum responsibilities.
The first was a minor incident phoned in from Parekura at 9.30am, involving a van and a car.
About 9.30pm at Arorangi, a motorcyclist reportedly collided with the rear of a parked car.
The motorcyclist drove off but the bike’s registration was photographed by the car’s occupants.
The victims, tourists, were expected to provide a statement and a photograph to Police yesterday, spokesman Trevor Pitt said.
“I expect Police will follow up on the registered owner of the vehicle for questioning.”
A fourth crash was called in at 10.30pm on the main road by Tamarind House at Tupapa.
A motorcyclist struck an SUV which had driven out onto the main road.
The driver of the bike sustained a serious cut and abrasions to the legs.
Blood specimens have been sought from both drivers.
Pitt said no charges have been laid as yet.
