Big vocals hitting high notes and radiating great confidence captivated the audience at the “Cook Islands Has Talent” stage on Saturday night.

The multi-talented powerhouse Terā-'itirere-ki-Avaiki Rongo, fondly known as “Mama Ra”, belted out a “golden performance” receiving a standing ovation for her cover song of Broadways “She used to be mine” sung by Sara Bareilles.

“I was nervous, but it was good,” says 11-year-old Rongo.

Judges praised “the little angel with a big voice” as a performer who has a lot to give.

“You made us believe in you and have great confidence…”

Tarita Thompson with her sweet voice and dazzling smile showcased a beautiful performance singing and playing the electric guitar with her rendition of “Georgia”.

All eight performers who participated in the event on Saturday night at Staircase have progressed to the semifinals next week alongside the six from last week.

Judges for the “Cook Islands Has Talent” are Sisi Short, Tupa Tupa, Mona Taio and Paul Lynch.

All proceeds from the show will go towards the Fale Niue (hostel) that will be built in Tupapa.
