The Tropical Christmas Committee is pleased with the activities of the festive period which continues today with the Santa on Tour from 8.30am to 11.30am, starting at CITC Supermarket to the Punanga Nui Market and through town.

The Santa Float parade on Thursday brought joy and cheer to families and children who gathered to watch.

Puaikura Fire Brigade volunteer and local resident Jacopo Dozzo participated in the annual parade as usual. This year, the experience was particularly special for him, as his father, Daniele Dozzo, who is visiting Rarotonga from Milan, Italy, proudly joined the firefighters in the parade.

Maru Apera, Matson agent Excil Shipping’s general manager and a member of the Tropical Christmas Committee, said that the committee has successfully ignited the magic of the festive period.

“Recognising the true message and uniqueness of this month, let the gift giving traditions continue and let us all share a joyful time with families and friends,” Apera said.

The festive programme continues today. Keep an eye out for Santa and Elfie as they visit CITC Supermarket, Punanga Nui Market, and various sponsors’ stores.

The Kīnura Music Festival will be held on Sunday, December 10, at Te Are Karioi (National Auditorium). Doors will open at 6pm.

The Island Craft “Bonanza Sale” starts next week on December 13, the BSP Green Day on December 15 – lucky dip stations and free ice cream vouchers from 1pm to 2pm. There will be a Santa on Tour from 8.30am – 11.30am on December 16.

The Vonnia’s Mainstore Avarua and Dive, Surf, Sports shop will have their Late-Night Shopping and Christmas Specials on December 20, until 8pm.

The Bond Store will open for their Late-Night Shopping and Christmas specials from December 21-23, until 7pm. CITC Liquor will open for their Late-Night Shopping and Christmas specials on December 22 and 23, until 6pm.
