Nautilus Resort in Muri is ready to welcome Pacific Island leaders who will be attending the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Rarotonga.

The resort located in the heart of Muri will be accommodating the visiting leaders from the 18 member countries.

Most of the leaders have already checked in and security is high, with measures taken to ensure the safety of the leaders and their delegations at both the Nautilus and Muri Beach Resort.

Director and resort owner Paul Pearson said preparation for an event of this magnitude started with assessing their venues, including evaluating their current resorts infrastructure and room facilities, to ensure the event would run smoothly.

“We enhanced our security measures to ensure the safety of participants, including staff VIPs and dignitaries,” Pearson said.

The resort’s rooms and gardens, including all public areas, are being maintained to the highest standards.

The resort has about 64 staff who will be working hand in hand to make their guests’ stay remarkable during the meeting.

Pearson and the management and staff would like to thank the Cook Islands Government and representatives for giving them the opportunity to showcase their properties, but also bringing attention to the entire destination.

“This is truly benefiting our Rarotongan community and the tourism industry,” Pearson said.

“Our team is so excited and now we are really feeling the buzz and am hoping for a memorable event that will leave a positive impression on all those attending.”

In a morning message to his team, Pearson thanked the staff for their commitment and reminded them that the smile they give when welcoming guests, the extra care and time they make for their guests with genuine interest, will set them apart.

The resort has also allocated parking spots for the Hyundai Ioniq Electric Vehicles which will be used for the leaders’ transportation. Charging ports have also been set up.

On Monday, November 6, the Pacific Sub-Regional Meeting of the Melanesian and Micronesian presidential summit will be held at the resort, followed by lunch for the Forum Leaders.
