Owner Adela Mahusay, a fully qualified beauty professional, brings over 14 years of experience in the Cook Islands to this modern, air-conditioned haven.
The salon, which opened in August this year, is thriving, thanks to Adela's loyal clientele.
“I’m amazed that about 90% of her customers from the Chilli’s building followed her here,” said her partner, Nick Reeves, who highlighted the improved accessibility and visibility of their new location.
“Good and steady little business but she's been here for 14 years on the island and we only opened in August this year which is fun and it's good because there's no one else in this area who's got a hair dressing business.”
Mahusay provides a wide array of services, including hairdressing, facials, massages, body scrubs, waxing, and eyebrow care.
The body scrub Mahusay makes is made out of leaves and papaya and more natural products she finds from the environment.
“So it's all natural product and just salt in it, it's really good. I had one a while ago, I felt like I was tingling for about two days. It takes all the old skin off of your body and you just feel like, wow, this is great. Your skin feels really amazing,” Reeves said.
“I thought, now this would be like having a wash but it's not. All that dry skin seems to invigorate you.”
Known for her expertise in hair rebonding, she transforms unruly hair into sleek, straight locks that leave her clients feeling beautiful and confident.
The spa prides itself on using top-quality, minimally chemical products sourced from overseas.
With plans to enhance their signage and a commitment to excellence, Pure and Natural aims to showcase Mahusay's dedication to customers' satisfaction.
Mahusay is accompanied permanently by only one staff member who is on sick leave currently, but will be back in the country to bring the best health and beauty service to Rarotonga through Pure and Natural.
