Imanuela Akatemia has been awarded a grant of more than $112,000 from the Japan Embassy in New Zealand.

The grant will be used to renovate the school roofing along the main school verandah and to replace one of the school’s water tanks.

Kimi Turuibewa, a board member of the school, said that the school was grateful for the generous support from the government and people of Japan.

“First and foremost, we give all the glory and honour to our Heavenly Father for His grace and guidance throughout the application process of the Japan grant scheme.”

Turuibewa said that the new roofing and water tank would improve health and safety conditions for students and staff, and would create a better educational environment.

The Japan Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) is a grant scheme that provides financial assistance to non-profit organisations and local governments in developing countries to implement projects that address basic human needs.
