There are many of us in New Zealand who have had many trips to Raro cancelled throughout the 18 months of Covid. We are eager to come and spend our money in Paradise. We have our 5th attempt booked for November. All 4 of us have been vaccinated in preparation and have paid nearly double for the airfares. We are coming from an area that has not had a Covid case for 17 months. If we are then required to have a pre departure test at a cost of $250 per person, this will add another $1000.00 to what is already a very expensive holiday and put extra stress on us as we live in a rural area and will have to travel to the city within 72 hours of travel to have this done. On top of the new vaccination rules which will now stop a good number of people travelling to Raro because they don't want the vaccine, pre departure testing will only serve to damage Raro's tourism businesses further because of the huge added cost involved. everyone in the world will adapt the same strategy i believe that a vaccinated entry with weekly testing for every person through the airport.
