The pair have been summoned to appear on October 5 after being released on bail this week.
The two accused are alleged to have been involved in an altercation at the Nikao Social Centre around a week ago.
They now face charges of common assault and threatening to kill.
Police media officer Trevor Pitt said they were arrested on Thursday, charged and bailed.
He said the matter had attracted considerable comments on social media, and police have had to investigate witness evidence and details related to allegations of assault, which were also levelled at an elderly man on the scene.
Earlier this week a family reached out to the Rarotonga community seeking more information about an incident at the Social Centre last weekend.
The alleged incident was an attack on an elderly father, where two females were accused of beating the man.
The family said they are humbled, as their father puts the incident down to being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
