Police report domestic violence and theft cases
POLICE MEDIA 23050104

Cook Islands Police say the weekend has been relatively good with only a few incidents reported.

Police strategic and media advisor Trevor Pitt said that on Friday night police received a call at 9.30pm of a crash at Betela in Arorangi, involving a 41-year-old motorcyclist.

Pitt said it was a suspected alcohol-related incident.

There were two domestic disturbances reported on Saturday afternoon involving assaults on women.

Pitt said that one of those assaults resulted in the arrest of a male suspect, who will appear in court this week.

Meanwhile, incidents of theft were reported, one of a stolen bike that was later found at another location in Nikao.

The other theft case reported to police on Saturday involved stolen piglets from Avana.
