Couldn't agree more apart from the actual penalty which I believe was far too low. You are overseas, abide by the rules, do not refuse what is legally entitled to be taken (EBA). This tourist blackens the name of New Zealanders. Maybe a future ban on travel there too.

Rules must be followed in every country that you visit period it's just simple...know the laws and rules in the countries you visit..
