POLICE MEDIA 23050104

The long Gospel Day weekend was a relatively quiet and peaceful holiday with few incidents reported to police.

Police media and strategic advisor Trevor Pitt says there were three road complaints received, symptomatic of ongoing recklessness on the road.

On Friday afternoon, Police recovered a trail bike on which a 14-year-old boy had been doing wheelies and crashed, in Turangi.

Also in the Turangi area, on Saturday, a motorcyclist driving dangerously was stopped by an off-duty Policeman and questioned. The young male took off on a bike found to be unregistered - AAB903.

On  Monday morning, a minor crash was reported by a tourist when a motorbike drove into the back of their rental vehicle, in Panama.

Two burglaries were also reported to Police, with the first reported on Saturday morning, where cash was stolen overnight from inside a Takuvaine residence.

And the second incident wasreported on Monday with a PlayStation unit being taken from an Arorangi house late Saturday night/early Sunday morning.

There was one dog complaint reported to Police on Saturday afternoon, when a pig was attacked at Avana. Police Media
