On early Sunday at 5.35am, police received a report of a motorcyclist that crashed by Soul Café in Tupapa.
Police media and strategic advisor Trevor Pitt said the driver was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
He was subjected to blood specimen analysis as it was a suspected alcohol-related incident.
Pitt said in another crash matter that a 46-year-old dangerous, drunk driver, who is a known disqualified driver, was arrested and remanded in custody on Saturday evening.
He was expected to be bailed yesterday (Monday).
Pitt says the man faces multiple charges after being pursued by Police that evening. The man allegedly sped away from Police failing to stop until he reached home, where he tried to hide.
“Police said he’d discarded a carton of beer and fell from his motorbike. After being returned to Police Headquarters, he was breathalysed at more than double the limit for alcohol.”
On Saturday at 2.48am, a two-motorcycle crash occurred at Takuvaine, resulting in one male driver being rendered unconscious and sustaining injuries. The other male driver also required medical attention. Blood specimens were sought for analysis from both drivers.
On early Sunday morning, police attended to a domestic incident where a man was arrested and remanded on a charge of assault on a female. He was bailed on Sunday afternoon to appear in court on Thursday.
