Sharmiana Alexandra Thompson appeared in the Criminal Court on Thursday where her lawyer Mark Short said he had been given instructions that she wanted to enter guilty pleas.
Short had earlier indicated his client was wanting to enter guilty pleas during an October appearance, but wanted to discuss the matter with Crown Law as cases over $100,000 often required checking for correct figures.
Yesterday, Thompson, 30, and an unemployed former employee of BSP, entered guilty pleas to each of the charges as they were read out in court.
The first charge alleged that between August 2017 and August 2022, being a servant of the BSP Rarotonga, she stole $30,070.
Between July 2021 and March 2022, she stole $35,580 from the BSP.
Over the course of seven months between September 2021 and April 2022 she stole $7475 from BSP.
Between April 2020 and August 2020, she stole $29,247 and between April 2022 and September 2022 she stole $5000 from the BSP.
A figure of $4000 was reported stolen by her from the bank between May and September 2022 while she stole $13,134 between October 2017 and October 2021.
Between March 2018 and January 2019, she stole $730 from the BSP.
It all amounted to $125,236, with a victim named in each charge, and each theft being in cash.
Short asked for a probation report as a result of the guilty pleas, then asked for a sentencing date.
Justice of the Peace Nadine Newnham adjourned the matter to a call over before a Judge on February 2, 2024, and ordered a probation report.
