Takiriko Napa-Ioaba was discharged without a conviction for a charge of wilful damage.
Napa-Ioaba, who was charged with wilfully damaging a Toyota Vitz rental car, was represented by defence lawyer Michelle Tangimama.
Police prosecutor senior sergeant Fairoa Tararo said that on August 3 last year, a damage to a vehicle at Ruatonga was reported to police.
He said the vehicle was hired by the complainant who went to visit the defendant. However, there was an argument between the two and the defendant reversed her vehicle hitting the complainant’s rental car.
Tararo said this was Napa-Ioaba’s first appearance and recommended she pay reparations of $345 and to be discharged without a conviction.
Tangimama in her submission said the defendant took responsibility for the damages and requested a discharge without conviction.
